Day 01: We meet at Ilburo Safari Lodge at 0800 for a short briefing. You will meet the other travellers who will join the Safari and the Scandic Safari Crew. After half an hour, we will start driving to Tarangire National Park. The name of the park comes from the Tarangire River that runs through the park. The river is an important resource for the animals in the park. The landscape with thousands of Baobab trees is amazing beautiful. Tanrangire National Park is famous for its huge numbers of elephants. It is possible to see herds of elephants up to 100. You can see the most of Tanzania’s wildlife in Tanrangire and up to 550 different spices of birds, so the park is a paradise for bird watcher. We will enjoy our lunchbox in the park and late afternoon we will drive to campsite inside the park.
Dag 02: After early breakfast, we drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Ernest Hemingway said once that Lake Manyara is the loveliest lake in Africa. In Lake Manyara, you will see many animals from baboons to elephants. There is more than 400 different kinds of birds in the park and you will see thousands of flamingos colour the horizon pink. We will find a nice spot to eat our lunchbox and in the late afternoon, we will drive to a campsite outside the park.
Day 03: After breakfast we decent down in the Ngorongoro Crater (6 hours permit). Ngorongoro Conservation Area is UNESCO World Heritage Site and the crater is the world biggest inactive volcanic caldera. The crater was made when a big volcano exploded and collapsed 2-3 million years ago. There is many animals down in the crater and there will be a big possibility to see Rhinos. You will also see the Masai tribe having the cows on grass in the crater, just next to the hungry lions. Lunchbox will be served in the crater. In the afternoon we will drive back to Arusha.
If you want Scandic Safari to book a hotel in Arusha before and after the Safari, we will be pleased to help you. We can recommend Ilburo Safari Lodge ( www.ilborusafarilodge.com ), but we can also find another hotel/lodge for you.
